Best salon booking software in the UK: what to look for
There's no single "best" booking software. There's the one that fits how you work and what you'll actually pay. These are the criteria that matter most for UK salons, and how QZee approaches each.
| Feature | QZee | Questions to ask |
|---|---|---|
| Starting cost | QZee Free (£0 per month) | Ask for the subscription, per-user charges, add-ons, payment fees and VAT in one written quote |
| Pricing transparency | QZee Pro (£14.99 per month). Optional seven-day trial with card details. One trial per business. Monthly only; no annual plan. QZee fee of 3% + 25p per paid booking, with no marketplace or new-client commission. The QZee fee is paid by the business. No VAT is added to QZee's 3% + 25p booking fee. Stripe's standard processing fees also apply and are paid by the business. | Check which costs are fixed, usage-based or optional, who pays each fee, and what changes as the team grows |
| New-client / marketplace commission | No marketplace or new-client commission. QZee's 3% + 25p per paid booking applies | Ask whether discovery or first-time bookings carry a separate fee, how a new client is defined and whether the feature is optional |

Why venues choose QZee
Add up the real monthly cost, including subscription, per-booking and any new-client fees, before you choose.
Check whether deposits and automatic reminders fit the way you manage missed appointments.
Both QZee plans let you export your business data. QZee Pro separately adds product and advanced-report exports.
QZee Free and QZee Pro each include one active bookable staff seat. Each additional seat costs £5 per month and is charged pro-rata immediately when added, including during a Pro trial. Reductions take effect at the next staff-seat renewal. Paid staff seats continue after Pro is cancelled unless you reduce or cancel them separately.

FAQ
Questions, answered
What should I compare between booking tools?
Compare the total monthly cost (subscription + per-booking + any new-client/marketplace commission), whether there's a free plan, contract terms, and core features: deposits, reminders, staff calendars and discovery.
Is QZee suitable for a small or single-chair salon?
Yes. QZee Free lets a solo stylist take online bookings without a monthly subscription. Connected payments are available to UK businesses that complete Stripe verification.
Does QZee work for other business types?
Yes. QZee supports barbers, nail salons, spas, massage businesses, clinics, studios and tattoo studios. Booking businesses can add event tools with QZee Pro.
